I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Fat

Every time I think I have enough cookbooks, someone goes and does something evil like this.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Someone who knows me well could give me Fat and Salt together as a gift!

This weekend, I have to clean the house, do laundry, go to Target and give blood. I also want to make those tartlets, get a wreath, and maybe see Cadillac Records.

“Not dead yet!”

OMG, I have my house back. Part of my Christmas present to Lewis is having stuff done around the house that we've intended to do since we moved in but never got around to. One of those things was moving a thermostat upstairs from the hallway, which was a stupid place for it, to the actual bonus room.

Sounds like a simple thing, but it wasn't. It required much work. And men were here all day, fixing it, bless them, but the dogs felt the need to make noise every time the guys went up and down the stairs.

I've gotten very little done today and I have a headache. Perhaps I should also request pizza.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

What are people doing this weekend?

Putting up the sparkly tree, trying to write the next GCS column, going dancing, and hanging out with a friend I don't get to see very often.

Or they could cut to the chase and give you Charcuterie instead!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Taking a big-ass test tomorrow morning, then going to see Australia with the husband. Sunday, hanging out at home, followed by much dithering about hair and make-up, then going to the Women in Film Gala. It's a black tie event and I am going as my friend Nancy's date. She's gonna get an award!
