Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

ION, I can't decide if I should go to the grocery store and/or get my nails done.

Is it a choice between looking good or eating for a week? Cause I'd have to go with the food having option.

Well, my plan for today was get up early, eat, shower, quickly do my grocery shopping, come back and start my laundry and finish writing my resume.

When I got to Walgreens, I had to wait for a couple of prescriptions so I impulsively signed up for a flu shot. I wound up waiting over an hour! Then I had to finish my shopping (3 stores). I left at 11:30 and just got home and it's almost 4:00! grrr.

ION, my bosses told me yesterday that they will have to lay me off, but they will keep me on the payroll until I find another job. Huge relief! They are also lobbying for the idea of me looking for a job up in Iowa where my family lives. I admit, this has been in the back of my mind since my parents died. It would be nice to be close to my 2 favorite sibs.

So, I have to get this resume finished so it can be forwarded to a couple of companies in Cedar Rapids, with the hope that I could set up interviews over the Thanksgiving holiday.

This is a radical mind-shift for me, but they have logic on their side, since I have to find a job anyway, and I would love to move back to Iowa. I just didn't see it all coming.

So, Sox, if you are around, Ima gonna try and send you something soon.

And any other Buffista HR types, if you'd be willing to give it a quick look, I'd be grateful.

Iowa~ma would be appreciated!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is it a choice between looking good or eating for a week? Cause I'd have to go with the food having option.

Nah, it's more a choice between leaving my house or not. It's looking more and more likely like "not" is winning, at least for the rest of today. This is the biggest adjustment I have to make with the end of daylight savings -- just because it's dark, doesn't mean I can't leave the house!

ION, my bosses told me yesterday that they will have to lay me off, but they will keep me on the payroll until I find another job. Huge relief!

Wow, bad news/good news. Good luck with the search.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Wow! That's great to still be getting paid until something else comes along. I'm sorry about the layoff, though- I hope it leads to new and exciting life decisions though! Sometimes these things happen for a reason. (so they say)

I'll believe it when it happens.

ION, I have become addicted to the puppy cam! I can't stop watching, and I get annoyed when they wander out of range and the camera doesn't get adjusted! I want control, so I can follow them when they leave the sleeping nest.

Right now they are all in a big pile at the far end, semi-napping. It cracks me up that some of them just have to sleep on top of the others.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I'M AN AUNT. WOO!

And thanks for the pep talks last night. 12 hours of sleep has helped. I'm still worried, but it seems less dire.

Also, did I mention that I'm an aunt?

“Not dead yet!”

Yay, shrift's an auntie!

And quester, lots of job/Iowa ~ma for you as well.

Slightly random question-- when you think of famous movie kisses from the sixties or earlier, which ones immediately come to mind?

My first was From Here to Eternity.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Happy Aunting, Shrift!

For an older movie kiss, I might go with The phone making out in Notorious. Hawtt. From the '60s, Hmm. Maybe Sundance and the "Teacher Lady" in Butch and Sundance?
