Mal: You tell me right now, little Kaylee, you really think you can do this? Kaylee: Sure. Yeah. I think so. 'Sides, if I mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I just saw the weirdest thing I ever saw in California: as we were driving back from Westwood West LA to the Valley, you pass over these mountains at the Sepulveda pass, and normally the Valley spreads out below you. At night you can't see the mountains on the other side of the Valley. This night was like that, except those mountains were on fire: it was a low-hanging explosion, or like the moon was on fire. It was so freaky I had to remind Bob that he was driving. (This is the Sylmar fire.)

Thursdays are a good night because K is at hockey and I'm at loose ends. I usually try to hang with someone, often Alibelle, on that night. So if you are up to it, I'll see if Alibelle will join us and we can do a Thursday at the unknown-name Greek place.

Sure, let's do it at like 6:30, because Bob has office hours.

OK- I just got a Facebook request from someone who I went to high school with, but probably never said 3 words to. I could barely remember who he is! The funniest thing to me is that he was really cool and I was, um, not. I am pretty sure he just friended all of his friend's friends, as he was friends with some people I did hang out with. But it was freaky trying to conjure him up.

This reminds me I got a request from someone who I don't know. All I know about her now is that 1. she friends people if they know two or more of her friends (my fault for going to A. High School two years before her) and 2. she spends ALL DAY EVERY DAY giving people plants. Is she mentally defective? How entertaining could that be for days in a row? Does she realize how it clutters up my live feed? How do I get rid of her?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Not one person from high school has tried to friend me! I feel all shunned and stuff. And I have the same name, too!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I have a couple of acquaintances from high school who friended me. They're both guys from my science club, and they've gone on to have nice, normal, married, professional lives. I was kind of hoping that at least one person in the club would go on to be an evil scientist, complete with world domination plans. Perhaps that one just isn't on Facebook yet. Pity. I'd love to see the status updates.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a ridiculous number of facebook friends from high school.

ION, it's supposed to rain here all day! I did not account for that when thinking about what I was going to do today, much of which was going to involve walking around the city. Hmph.

It was Jesse's high school friends who got me on facebook. Sorta.

A college friend came through town last night after a very promising interview about 2 hours west. So I fed her and gave her a bed and cats. Just sent her on her way home. It was good to see her. And we totally came out to each other as online peoples! I've known her 15 years and only now learn she blogs on lj! HAH.

I need to get dressed and go pick up catfood, which apparently I ordered. Buh? I put my name down on the sign up sheet, but figured I'd call with a week's notice. Um. And this was like...a month ago? I'm not quite out of food, but have to sign up to get the wet food now too, so. Man, new office staff.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't, either.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm not on Facebook, nor do I plan to be. It's hard enough keeping up with lj.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I go for weeks without checking Facebook, and I don't miss it. It's hard enough navigating the social waters of LJ and B.org, much less the even messier territory that is Facebook, among people who know my real name.
