Well, I'm not going to be driving the car. It's back in the shop and it'd take $2,800 to fix it. Which is way more than it's worth.
Actually, according to the current online blue book, it's just exactly what it's worth.
Bleah. I have such an epic lack of knowledge as to how to buy a used car.
Plans for the weekend:
Tonight: Drink a martini, maybe watch a movie.
Tomorrow: Take Matilda to circus class, take her home for a nap, try to write (I really want to go to the protest, but it conflicts with both the class and the nap, and it looks like there'll be protests all over the Bay Area almost daily for the next month at least)
Sunday: Take Matilda to church, get ferried around by grandparents, come home and GO TO A CONCERT WITH LEE.
Happy Birthday, ChiKat!!!
Hec and JZ--my charming DH knows, well, everything about cars, new and used, and would be happy to share his expertise.
Aw, Scrappy, your charming DH is the best, and will probably get a pesty email at some near point.
As good-karma payback, may I offer up my latest encounter with our downstairs neighbor Pete? We ran into each other in the building lobby and were talking Netflix, and he started raving joyfully about Lars and the Real Girl, which is now his favorite movie of the year and possibly of the last few years. He thought it was beautifully written and incredibly charming, and he was very excited to hear I knew someone who could personally pass on his love and praise to the writer.
All of the puppies are back! I was wondering if they had gone to their new homes or something.
(yes, the day is dragging and I have little to do).
Happy birthday, ChiKat!
I'm hoping to do very little this weekend aside from grading. Um, and housework.
Oh dear, dinner is in the oven and Isaac is about to fall asleep! No! Stay up long enough to eat, THEN you can sleep.
Not only are they back, Perkins, but they've discovered that their mattress lifts up! It's madness.
Happy birthday, ChiKat!
What are people doing this weekend?
Finishing the revisions and art list for the book ('cos it's due Monday, eep!), having a big birthday party at Ye Olde Spooky Club, and going to my parents house for a birthday dinner.
Yesterday two of them were wrestling while they were completely underneath it, which was really fun to watch.
