That's why I'm stuck eating the stuff out of a can each Thanksgiving. There aren't enough people in my family who like cranberries to make it worth while to make the real thing.
Tom, you can get really good (so I hear) cranberry relish-type stuff at Trader Joe's; you could take that to Thanksgiving so that you could have cranberry happiness.
We might be headed to the Keys for Thanksgiving this year.

Yes, you can, and it is Teh Nom.
We have to have the real kind and the rings, or there are riots at the table.
For the fresh kind, it's just cranberries, sugar and an orange or two. We used a meat grinder (so much fun when the berries pop) but I'll bet a blender would work fine too.

I go for the whole berry. I've found the recipe on the back of the bag to be quite sufficient, but I like the thought of switching out the white sugar with brown sugar. And maybe a splash of booze.

I come from a mixed family. My mother and I only like real cranberry sauce; my sister and my late father like(d) the can-shaped stuff. We always have both, and I too make it right off the Ocean Spray package. I love the way the cranberries pop.
