Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
folk art, sj. not horrid, but not to everyone's taste
I'm glad that TCG and Mom know my taste because the rest of my family doesn't. My aunt got me a sweater in a particular color, because I liked that color at 13. I think she got 13 and 31 confused.
Well, considering I was convinced I wasn't getting squat from my mother this year, I ended up with a very nice pair of earrings. Not necessarily a pair I would've chosen for myself, but nice enough and versatile enough that I'll definitely wear them.
She seemed to like her gifts well enough. At least she didn't make outright faces and answer noncommittally when asked what she thought.
This is an improvement over previous years.
We made it through more than 24 hours without mention of my father although she managed to mention every other relative on his side of the family. I'm afraid she's working her way up to it.
I just need to survive until very early Saturday morning.
only odd gift were these naked clay dolls from Thailand. teeny , miniature things. naked.
So who else has to work tomorrow?
I'm closing tonight and tomorrow.
Worked today, working tomorrow. At least today, with the group home empty, the hard part was not actually snoring in case anyone came in.

Tomorrow, I have two monsters and some work to do, but no braving the public, thankfully. Greg has to work tomorrow and Saturday.
Nora, I actually quite like the wood/pattern of the cat's body, but the face is a bit too...something. My mother would love your gifts to bits. Maybe it's a generational thing.
My mom sent capes for the children that haven't arrived yet. Greg's parents gave the kids exactly what they wanted, which was very nice.
We've had a mellow day. Nick came last night, was loved on today, and left with a few presents and a lot of leftovers, which he loves. I made a very simple meal; Greg gave me paints, inks, and books about sumi-e; I gave him Tim Burton toys and a D&D book; the kids were spoiled by everyone and ate too much candy, and we had a marathon of Christmas cartoons that ended with a snack at 11 before popping the punkins into bed. It was nice.
I went to eat Indian food and see South Pacific at Lincoln Center. Variation on the usual Chinese food and movie theme. The food and the show were both very good. Actually, the show was really good.
