[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oooh, good haircut, meara. Very fetching.

Will someone please tell me what ritual I need to do to exorcise the demons currently pogo-ing in my sinuses? I've had a sinus migraine all day, and I'm really goddamn tired of it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Jilli, how do you feel about nasal irrigation? I use a neti pot, feels weird but really helps.

Daniel brought me a mint-chocolate shake from Arby's. Teh Yum. Of course, now I'm huddled up with a blanket, shivering.

WindSparrow, I've tried a neti pot, and I'm trying to decide if the feeling of almost drowning is worth any possible relief at this point.

I hope you feel better soon, you poor girl.

Hil, what meds were they giving you? When they give me compazine or dilaudid without benadryl I tend to anxiety attacks and feel a huge urge to rip out the needle and run for the hills.

No meds, actually. They put the needle in to take blood, and they were going to give me something for the headache and nausea, but the headache and nausea were really not that bad, and it seemed like it was mostly, "Well, of all the complaints you have, there's one we know how to fix, so let's fix it!" I really didn't feel like putting another drug into my body to fix a minor problem just so that it would seem like they were doing something, and I told them that, and they said OK and didn't give me the drug. But left the stupid needle in my arm for another hour, anyway.

ah yes, treating the symptom, not the problem.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

treating the symptom, not the problem.

And yet I go in with just a symptom to be treated and get grief.

Though, I must be honest, it's not been that bad recently. There must have been a meeting--and my specialist says he was leaning on them. They ask me what I usually get, and then give it almost always to me, despite being surprised at the number of drugs (4--used to be 5) and the dosages. I have to admit I'm kinda sad they're so used to me.
