I get to Houston Sept 8th. I was going to email you and see if you a) could meet up, and b) if you had a hotel rec.
I still need to work out all of the rest of the details, including if anyone is joining me, but at least I know that much.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Okay, just wanted to check the dates because we are going to Europe in late July. But I should be in town when you arrive!
YAY.
No road trips in July in Texas/Louisiana for me.
Heeeey, I am going to be in Houston the penultimate weekend of August (August 24-27)!
I believe I will also be here then, in between my two August cons.
That is about 46 hours of driving over maybe 9 days. Are we nuts?
Heh, having just done 14 hours of driving Saturday (well, and about an hour into Sunday) I'm going to say not that nuts.
My 41st birthday is Friday 8/23! Layovers in KC, y'all!
Suzi, I'd recommend staying in Santa Barbara between LA and SF, if that's how you are going.
Hearst Castle is fun, but you'll need to get tickets in advance.
Thanks Kat. That is a good suggestion. K and I need to work out the money side before the trip is 100% on. She has never been to CA, so I think driving up the coast and pointing at things will be cool enough if we can't get into Hearst Castle or anything else between LA and SF. I haven't driven the coast myself for yonks. I-5 is quicker but no scenary.

Suzi, I've done it a few times in the last couple of years. The drive is definitely worth it.
I've also done 4 of the 5 Hearst Castle tours. My favorite is the longer evening one where they dress up as guests, but that's not always available.
In any case, definitely plan any of those because the times can be tough on a tight schedule.
