I am East Coast, but no one wants to come to Florida at that time of year. I'm always happy to have mini-F2F events either in the winter here, or in the summer in Otter Lake.

In June? I will be here in June because my son Graduates From High School on June 1st! I expect to leave for NY shortly after that. May would be possible, but people would have to expect not to be outside much at all. Because really very hot. But, no shortage of things to do in Fort Lauderdale.

(I will say right off the bat that I don't recommend aLoft hotels. I stayed in one outside of Boston and it was very modern and stylish, but also weird and uncomfortable. The bathrooms appeared to be designed entirely to photograph well, without any thought given to comfort or privacy.)

I've stayed at that aLoft Brooklyn and I have to concur with Jessica. It's pretty swanky to look at (and the staff were super friendly and helpful) but the room is much prettier than it is comfortable. That said, it's right near a couple of subway stations and some great restaurants on Smith Street are well within walking distance. If you want kinda swanky/quirky/cool, Nu Hotel is the better bet for my money.
Also, go, Brooklyn!
