Seattle hotel taxes are 15.6%. Just FYI.

F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
BUT, it's possible they may lower the rates...she's the one who on the phone was all "well, what's the rate that would make you CHOOSE"
Though I note she never alluded to that when we met her. I was waiting.
Do we have any sort of head count yet for negotiating purposes?
It's a chicken & egg thing, isn't it? We can't get anything more than a guesstimate head count until we know which hotel - and thus what price - we're picking.

Exactly. I said 20 rooms when I started the negotiations with the hotels, though.
Yup, 20 is what we've been sticking to.
Oooh. The Crowne Plaza just came back with cheaper rates (than they'd been offering)...$159. Of course, their wifi isn't free, so I figure that ends up being $169 for everyone basically...(But I do figure that gives us something to tell the Monaco, when they come back to us)
$159? Cool. That's $20 less than previous, isn't it?
Yay, I am really happy about the "downtown" aspect. These places sound great. I always associate Crowne Plazas with the boring conferences I have to attend all of the time, and I associate Kimptons with hip and cool and fun.
Associations aren't everything, though!

That's really what I was expecting, Java, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Crowne Plaza.
