'War Stories'

F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Take a sharpie or paint pen to Gino's East. Graffiti is encouraged.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I wouldn't be able to do Friday, but I could probably do Saturday. I have no recommendations, but would happy to tag along with those in the know and ooohh and aaahhhh. And eat, of course.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I don't know if Aviary (or The Office) is possible, but an alternative would be The Violet Hour [link] .

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Any thoughts on preferred deep dish pizza?

I like Lou Malnati's. Gino's East gave me food poisoning.

I couldn't do Friday, but I could do Saturday late afternoon or evening. Would love to see y'all!

Our wings are not tired.

We ordered from Gino's East when we visited in March. We were very disappointed. I threw mine out. I blamed it on the holiday weekend, but really that is no excuse for the pie being tasteless.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I really liked Gino's East, both the thin crust and the deep dish. And the atmosphere.

The status is NOT quo.

Since you peeps are talking Chicago...would any of you who have met my friend Cricket be willing to put her up for one night? She's in Chicago doing the sound design for an I Love Lucy show at the Broadway Playhouse over the next two weeks. She's got a hotel for this time all set, but when she went to book a room for her dad for one night so he can see a preview of her show, the entire city is apparently sold out. The cheapest room she could find him is $400+. Anyway, I suggested that maybe she could give him her hotel room for that night if I could find her a place to crash. Email me if you'd be willing. Thanks!

What night? I could probably manage that if she doesn't mind cats and making her way to the north side.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Doesn't Rick Bayliss have a couple of restaurants in Chicago?
