Jilli, I usually respect your taste pretty implicitly, but I have to give you some serious sideeye for this...
Remember, I actually like my absinthe without sugar. I also like Chartreuse.
At a party a few years ago, some Very Macho Acquaintances decided it would be hilarious to have me try a shot of Jaegermeister. I downed it, shrugged, and said something like,
"Oh, it's the candy version of Fernet. What's the big deal?"
At which point the Very Macho Acquaintances said,
You drink FERNET? You're crazy."
I still think Fernet tastes like incense.
"Loamy" is the word I'd use to describe Fernet.
As opposed to "Loomy". That would be Jilli's DH.
Fernet's one of those things that I might drink for the connotations, but not for the actual taste.
I like Fernet . I sip it because i enjoy pulling out all the different flavors
I like Fernet in cocktails for sure.
I know Boulevard, yum.
Hey, sort of (but not really) on topic- Frank! Did you know a restaurant here asked me to pair beers for their beer dinner? I don't know if you follow my beer blog, but you're one of my beer buddies from Salem days and you aren't on the Facebook or Twitter where I usually discuss this stuff: [link]
thyme. bitter orange. anise.
ther e are a lot more , but I don't have any fernet right now
Beth! Are we going to see you and Matt on Sunday. There was email.
And she replied! But apparently only to me. Yes, they are coming.
