Hauser: You really think you can solve the problem? Come into Wolfram & Hart and make everything right? Turn night into glorious day? You pathetic little fairy. Angel: I'm not little.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

That area is so beautiful.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Aims, that would be terrific! Since I'm renting a cottage, I'd love to have guests.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

For the first time in 17(!) years I will not be working near Traverse City in the summer. I will probably visit but I don't know when yet.

Aims, one of the places I stay up there is in (Alaska!?) Kalkaska.

I haven't been in that area for years, even though I lived across the mitt in Alpena until I was 15. Still, I remember it being gorgeous, too. And much, much cooler than NC in the summer.

Librarian Warlord

BayAreaistas: We will be around this coming weekend, and have planned to meet some people at Cordornices Park in Berkeley on Sunday from 2-4, if anyone would like to come out and visit with us!

And LAistas: We will be in Culver City the next weekend, where my niece & nephew will be playing Bluegrass at Me-n-Ed's Pizza in Lakewood starting at 6:30 p.m. Family friendly, for my 2 year old.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

(cross-post from Press) I am going to be in San Francisco next week! I will be accompanying my elderly mom and going on super-hip things like sightseeing tours, though, so no Buffista meet-ups. We are staying at the Comfort Inn on Van Ness. If you have suggestions for dinner places or other things a lady who does not like spicy food and can't walk more than a block, but who does have wide-ranging cultural tastes, might like, fire away!

You can take a cab from there (you're right at Lombard) to North Beach very cheaply (it's like five blocks), and there are lots of Not Spicy But Cream Saucy Italian places you could go.

Juliana would be your best guide but I could pimp some places. I do particularly love L'osteria Del Forno which specializes in Italian roasted things instead of pasta.

They've got stuff like gorgonzola melted over polenta, or crepes filled with mushrooms, ham and bechamel. But they also have more adventurous things like octopus carpaccio.

It's a small place run by two sisters.

That looks perfect, Hec. I am REALLY sorry I won't see any SFistas, but it's the anniversary of my dad's death that weekend and my mom is pretty fragile, so she is not up for company.
