You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We are staying at the Comfort Inn on Van Ness. If you have suggestions for dinner places or other things a lady who does not like spicy food and can't walk more than a block, but who does have wide-ranging cultural tastes, might like, fire away in the F2F thread.

You can take a cab from there (you're right at Lombard) to North Beach very cheaply (it's like five blocks), and there are lots of Not Spicy But Cream Saucy Italian places you could go.

Juliana would be your best guide but I could pimp some places. I do particularly love L'osteria Del Forno which specializes in Italian roasted things instead of pasta.

They've got stuff like gorgonzola melted over polenta, or crepes filled with mushrooms, ham and bechamel. But they also have more adventurous things like octopus carpaccio.

It's a small place run by two sisters.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That looks perfect, Hec. I am REALLY sorry I won't see any SFistas, but it's the anniversary of my dad's death that weekend and my mom is pretty fragile, so she is not up for company.

Scrappy, disappointed that you'll be so close without meeting, BUT totally understandable! I hope you and your mom have a lovely time.

(nursing so forgive brevity here)

Hey, following Scrappy's lead...

Joe is taking the kids to FL in March. I'm trying to plan a trip for me and Sammy to SF so i'm not sad missing them. I want to meet buffistas, eat good food and hear the ocean. I'm thinking March 23-27. I need suggestions on where to stay since i dont know the area. Also would love to plan to meet as many as i can.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Also YAY for me! I am actually scheduled to have the surgery to have the port removed right around then, so I will be a little limited in terms of what I can do, but I might be able to do some stuff.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Just to round out March, I'll be in SF March 16 - 18. Was wondering if any localistas wanted to meet up Friday the 16th in SF for dinner/drinks? I'm on public transportation and staying with my dad.
