F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
If we go with the current hotel that I'm looking at there is both an indoor and outdoor pool, plus jacuzzi.
Excellent. I don't need horses, then. Do they serve booze in the hot tub and at the pool? I may not leave it all weekend, mmmk?
And a pretty decent gym.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA! You are so funny! It is to laugh.
...Wait, you were serious? ;)
That restaurant sounds good.
ETA: I looked at the hotel and it looks nice! That outdoor terrace it really pretty; i wonder how expensive/viable/interested people would be in having Prom out there.
Also, I would LOVE to go see the Botanical Gardens.
I'd love that.
Off to LA on a packed plane loaded with teenagers. Thank dog I ponied up for priority seating.
Appears to be several teams worth of Canadian high school basketball players. Huh.
I just wanted to stop by and say that while I do live a ways from Denver and I will be in San Diego the weekend of the 17-18, I will be around the other weekend an happy to do what I can with hanging out and taking people places. I have one car thatseats 8.

If you are still looking for hotels, my friend who used to travel to Denver quite a bit liked one called The Timbers. It is not in downtown but not an airport hotel either. I think they have suites and I know they have wireless. She was on a budget so my guess is that the rates are decent. It might be worth a checking out.
Suzi, insent with current poll results.
lcat - I just looked at The Timbers are it is north east of downtown. It is not near any light rail which would provide easy access to many cool places.
The hotel we are looking at has wireless and no one seems to be balking at the idea of $95/night.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
Thanks for the poll update, Pix. So far there is only a 1 person variance between the two dates so if you can make one weekend but not the other, please make sure to complete the survey.
Nicole and I went on our hotel tour today. Other than some seriously strange, but clean, carpets, we liked what we saw. The hospitality suite is great and we can have them configure the seating/tables however we want. The suite does adjoin two rooms - a king on one side and a pair of doubles on the other side. I will likely request to have one of those rooms.
We also got to see what a Jr Suite looks like - a little extra space over the regular room and a balcony. This could be a decent option if we go with the first weekend.
If you haven't voted in the current poll, please do so!
Also, if you have any hotel related questions, please ask. If I can't answer them, they will go on my list for talking with our group gal.
The Pikes Peak room that we'd likely use for prom is also a great space. Or, more accurately, it's well situated for our needs. In this huge hotel, we'd have our rooms and the prom room in the same general area (tower) of the hotel that is slightly separated from the rest of the hotel. LOVE!
Pikes Peak room cons - No Windows. Some people might get a touch claustrophobic.
The pros - We'll have this whole second floor area, where Pikes Peak is located, pretty much all to ourselves. People can spill out of the prom room to a large sitting area that's still fairly secluded. Or take the elevator or stairs down to the first floor and straight to the outside smoking area or just to get some air.
The elevators are just around the corner from Pikes Peak so we won't have to wander through the lobby and a bunch of strangers in our prom apparel. Before or after prom. This is a big plus, in my book.
The carpets are definitely fucked up and strange but that was the only real negative (for me). This picture is a prime example of the freaky carpet but it also shows a teensy bit of the second floor area that leads to the Pikes Peak room.

That sounds amazing. It would be great to go a year without pissing off the entire hotel with our boisterousness, and though I love windows, it certainly wouldn't be the first time we had Prom without them. The Seattle Prom room definitely didn't have windows.
