For me, West starts at the Continental Divide.
East is The Other Side of the Mississippi, but that doesn't work for F2F planning purposes.
In a Buffistas context, I think of Detroit as Central, even though it is farther east than Atlanta. Nashville and Mobile also Central. Toronto and Pittsburgh and Atlanta and Tallahassee are all East.
Again, because everyone has differing viewpoints on regions, maybe use timezones?
Heh. I too think of Denver as part of "the middle" if not "the Midwest"!
We are the lone remaining continental time zone holdout state. All you people with your crazy time changing ways. Daylight savings, harumph.
Sniff. Indiana isn't a holdout anymore! :(
East coast, West coast, Flyover?
Time zones works as a rough measure, but there are outliers like Detroit which were mentioned above. I don't know that it needs to be a hard and fast rule.
I don't know that it needs to be a hard and fast rule.
It's like I don't even know you anymore!
And just CONUS? Because it's not likely we'll have an F2F in Hawaii or on an Alaska cruise?
I know, meara! Used to be I had family in Indiana and Hawaii and we lived in Arizona and we could all harumph at everybody, but now nsm.
Anyway, yeah, time zones would put Indiana on east coast, so I dunno.
Barring an F2F party plane that picks up every Buffista at their doorstep, I can't see a Hawaii or Alaska F2F being affordable options. (Which is a shame because both would be pretty awesome placed to visit with you guys.)
