Yeah, I think midwest would probably include anything in the central timezone. Other place could also count, possibly (ie, Indiana might be Midwestern though it's EST) Dunno about mountain time, but possibly

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
An argument could be made for Colorado being West.
I have offered up Colorado before but there was great confusion as to which region it belonged in. Right now, I'm not up to pimping so it is kinda moot unless Nicole or Stephanie feel up to it. (Which would be wonderful and I'd be glad to assist, just not up to being point person.)
Is there any requirement about pimping besides getting the hotel/prom info? Not that that doesn't require effort, I'm just wondering. Personally, I can make a decision about whether X city is of interest to me on my own.
I understand why someone might want to sell it and get more votes, but I feel like people have been dissuaded from pimping at all because of a perceived need to be on the ground, have an intimate knowledge of a place, or write up 50 million things.
Personally, I never need to be pimped to... if I can find an affordable ticket and get the weekend off I'll go, and it doesn't matter to me whether it's an awesome hotel in a glittery city teeming with entertainment or a Holiday Inn in Evanston; if there are Buffistas there and I can swing a ticket, that's all I need. The F2Fs I've missed have always been solely about rotten timing or poverty, never ever ever because the pimper failed to make the city insufficiently enticing.

I can see that. However, I would say that the pimper/organizer should live in or have intimate knowledge of the city, but as long as there are Buffistas willing to assist, it's okay. Of course, that depends on the ultimate location, though. I would have been able to assist had the last F2F been in Baltimore, but wasn't able to help in RI.

Why?
Because when they don't the F2F sometimes doesn't go as well. The pimper doesn't know that although both hotels claim to be close to public transport, hotel A is a better transit line; or gets caught up in the newness of the city and isn't available; or where the best place to get stuff for the hospitality suite is (or even getting stuff for the suite); etc. There have been exceptions, of course, but history has shown that it goes more smoothly when the pimper is familiar with the city.
I would say if the pimper doesn't take responsibility for planning than someone else needs to at least sort of head up the committee so that we actually have hotels reserved and a prom set up, etc, etc.
I guess what I mean is that pimper does not have be the person responsible for organizing the affair, but there probably should be someone.
