I'm supposed to deliver you to the Master now. There's this whole deal where I get to be immortal. Are you cool with that?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm liking Trudy's small-F2F ideas.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Having attended the ginormo huge-fest of SF2F and the Atlanta F2F, which was smaller, more intimate, and much less hectic, I have to say I actually enjoyed Atlanta more. I got to see fewer people, overall, but I got to spend more time with those I did see. Being an introvert, I felt less stretched and stressed and more able to relax and have fun.

There are definitely things to be said for smaller gatherings. A lot less hoot, a little more nanny. 'S all good.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The poll had only 23 responses, with 17 in favor of changing the date. I don't think that is really enough interest to justify trying to do a big F2F on a different date. So that leaves us with where to have it and how to do it? Suggestions?

sj, can we a) still use the rate at the place you talked with; b) what is the rate?; c) how are they on rooms?

We could compare that with our orbitz options and decide from there.

Trudy, we can although their rooms become more limited on that weekend daily. The rate is 129 per night. I'm on my cell right now, but if you want to check rates for the area, that would be great.

Orbitz shows some good values "just outside" Providence. I don't know the area well enough to make that call though. Can someone who does take a peek?

Trudy, that link only goes to the main Orbitz pqage for me, so I did a search and if just outside means Warwick, Lincoln, or pretty much any other town or city that means driving rather than walking or taking a hotel shuttle to get into Downtown.

OK, we're not going to be IN Providence for under $135 (at Hamton Inn and Suites Providence [link] ) so maybe we should announce the place we have (the one sj found) and get those rooms.

The price is still good, right?

Trudy, I'll call her first thing tomorrow and see how many rooms are still available.
