Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

If I can make it , I can make all three. However, I have a personal preference.

And I think , if there were problems with how we were voting - you would hear it.

but it might be easier to set up next time if we remember how we do it...

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

At the risk of bringing down some folks wrath on the subject I might add that some people (and I will include me in that group, even if I'm the only one) might be voting for the June date because it's weeks before the July dates and therefor may be less oppressively summery.

Our wings are not tired.

I like the idea of opening it up to voting for multiple dates and then going with the date that gets the most "yes I can go" votes. Don't we want to be the most inclusive possible?

And my thanks to anyone who steps up and adds helpful info and puts a fire under asses to get Decisions Made.

The status is NOT quo.

Okay doke. Well here are the results, for whatever they're worth.

June 26-27 (Providence or Philly; NYC not available) 15
July 10-11 (NYC, Providence, or Philly) 8
July 17-18 (NYC, Providence, or Philly) 10

The winner is June 26-27, which means we now must vote Providence versus Philly. Could someone Nilly the pimpage for those two cities and combine them so people can see them more clearly?

sj and...whoever has taken over for Java...do you need more time to get exact price comparisons for this specific weekend, or do you feel ready to let people vote?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Pix, I would like at least through the end of the day tomorrow to follow through with a couple of hotels that I am waiting to hear back from.

Sounds good to me. You all take as long as you need, and poke me when you're ready for the next voting survey.

Aw, dang. Well, that makes my decision an easy one, I guess. I'm in a wedding in Chicago that weekend, so no F2F for me.

Because books.

The most affordable hotels in Philly were the Holiday Inn Historic District, Best Western Center City, and Crowne Plaza. All of the bids we have (all under $120) expire tomorrow, however, so I'll have to call and check on them.

I'm not sure what would happen after that, if Philly is chosen; one of the above hotels requires a deposit, although the other doesn't, and some of the details about prom would still need to be worked out.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think I would call and ask them to extend for one week.

Our wings are not tired.

Well, the thing is, final negotiations can't take place until a firm count of rooms needed/persons per room is done. At least two of the hotels in Philly made that clear to me. I have a slight idea of how many people are going, but I have no idea how many plan to bunk together.
