Coffee:

Also, would it help for us to pick a date first since it looks like the cities are all in the Northeast(ish)?

Our wings are not tired.

Pix, dates would really help. Of the 6 hotels I wrote to, only two have responded, both saying the offers vary widely depending on the date.

In that case, I propose a vote! What does everyone think about dates from late May to mid-July as options? I'm concerned earlier is too close to be feasible/competitive at this point. Potential weekends:

Maybe May 29-30 (Memorial Day Weekend), June 5-6, June 12-13, June 19-20, June 26-27, July 3-4 (July 4th weekend), July 10-11, and July 17-18?

Anyone? Do we want August or September possibilities as well?

I can easily set up a Survey Monkey once we're ready to go.

THANK YOU so much!

I've still only heard back from two hotels in Philly, and can make some calls tomorrow morning. But after Wednesday I won't be able to field any calls/emails. Amy and Sox, can I list you as contacts for hotels I'm speaking with?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Based on past experience, holiday weekends tend to run into family obligations for a lot of folks. Otherwise that list looks good to me.

Yeah, I thought about that with the holiday weekends, and I think July 4th would hike prices a lot. I don't know if Memorial Day might be worth considering, though, as it tends to have a lower number of family obligations and would give people a chance to have that Monday off.

Honestly, this is all kind of moot for us since it's looking like Drew's schedule may make it impossible for us to even have our East Coast reception/BBQ/gathering on the date we'd planned.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

New York/Weehawken-wise June 12-13 and 26-27 have problems.

Oy voting these things our is a tangle, isn't it?

Oh, noes!

The reservations agent at the Holiday Inn in Philly said to stay away from all holidays, especially July 4th because that's prime Philly history-buff-patriotic-tourist rates (>$300).

Because books.

java, you can refer them to me, but I will say that email is better, and I am going to be a little tense and preoccupied until I hit my deadline on April 1.
