I don't think that we've had formal pimpage yet, have we? Before we vote, we need to set timelines for pimpage. Plus, you cant' fully pimp until you have a response to the RFP, have all of the pimp cities responded?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Formal pimpage ... sounds almost like dress code for prom.
you are so COMMED.

I have a response and will give a more elaborate write-up if wished, but she can't give us hard numbers until we give her dates.
If we have the F2F in NYC we have the option of doing a non-hotel prom in the city.
I'm friendly with the manager and some of the bartenders and could probably get us a deal (and certainly treated right) here Of course there are many other options as well. Getting home drunken is no problem as public transportion is king in the land of No Designate Driver.
We could also do a boat charter. This one doesn't leave from our dock, but surely there is one that does or leaves from a port nearby.
No boats, please. Hard to escape for alone time on boats!
In terms of official pimpage, could anyone else who plans to pimp officially do so by the end of this week, maybe? Then we can vote and go from there.

Well, it would be a different sort of prom to consider. It would only be about two hours long and alone time might be back at the hotel.
We've had a variety over the years, both Madison and Atlanta were too public for much shenanigans -- but that's why they made after parties.
I know in the past that lots of folks have run back to their rooms mid prom for a bit in order to escape the crowd feeling. This would be difficult on a boat.
There are all kinds of alone time, of course. Deffinately something to consider once we pick a city, pick a date, and start prom planning. I'm just pimping options.

Khan! You'll be staying just a couple of blocks from where I work. Except I'll be out of town next week. Boo, me!
FWIW, I will offer recommendations, because Rockville is not exactly an exciting town. If you like sandwiches, there is Roy's Place, which is dive-y but good. It's not bad dive-y but it's not fancy by any stretch. It's worth going just to read the menu. There is also nummy dim sum to be had at lunchtime here. Both are within a 15-30 min. drive of your hotel, depending on traffic/time of day. And they're cheap and more interesting than going to someplace generic, I think.
Oh, and going southish, you're near Rockville Town Square which has all this. Obviously there's tons of stuff in DC, too, but if you just want to run out for a meal at least you'll know what's nearby.
I hope you have a good trip! And I'm bummed that I won't be around that week.
