If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My brother told me they went to Atlantic City recently and ended up not even getting out of the car. They went to Philly instead.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Damn, that's scary. Still, Jersey shore doesn't have to be about Atlantic City. I'm all about the beaches, personally. Give me a towel, a chair, a cooler of beer and a good book (or good company) and I am good to go. Of course, a volley ball net would be nice and maybe a horseshoe pit and a barbecue pit. And a boom box of some kind. Maybe a few umbrellas. Hee. I'm starved for a good beach vacation, I may have to put that on my list of things to do in the not-so-near future.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I like Sail's vision, there.

Our wings are not tired.

I do, too. As long as there are *no* cameras around me in my bathing suit. I am so not kidding about that.

Because books.

The Jersey shore isn't cheap in season, though. And when you go off season, even in early June, the weather can be iffy. September can be nice, but that's never guaranteed either. And there honestly isn't much to do aside from beach, boardwalk, restaurants, and mini golf.

And I say that loving and missing the Jersey shore like mad. If folks really wanted a beach experience, it might be smarter to go North Carolina, where the weather is usually more forgiving earlier in the year.

not your mom's socks.

We could do the Philly/daytrip beach thing. that way weather doesn't impact.

Also, there's Laurel Hill Cemetery [link] , The Mutter Museum [link] and lots of other oddities that might? slightly? offset Disneyland for Jilli? Maybe?

Plus some darn fine food and Victory and Yard beers which are the yum. Also an opportunity to be one of 6 million people who has re-enacted Rocky Balboa running up the Art Museum steps.

Plus, you know, history.

Our wings are not tired.

I don't care how dorky it makes me; I do love Philly. Just seeing Buffistas taking over Reading Terminal Market would be worth it.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Pictures.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Ooooh. Downtown Philly in the summer... The time I was there, if it wasn't a holiday weekend, you could get a huge soft pretzel and a can of pop from a street vendor for less than $2. As I was there with a college history study tour, many of us would make a lunch of that, thus saving money for dinner in Chinatown, etc.

Just seeing Buffistas taking over Reading Terminal Market would be worth it.

Mmmm, cheesecake.
