Now, this would be the perfect time for a swear word.

Hmmmmm. Mapblast is suggesting I could get from Carrboro, NC to Baltimore in under 5 hours. I suspect they're not including the 2 hours stuck in DC traffic that their map would include.

Still, it would be a doable drive.

calli you should be able to go up to western MD and then drive straight over skipping DC - i think it's Rte 80 up - i did that a lot going back and forth to Asheville NC

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Brooklyn to Philly is only $45 each way on Amtrak! Woo hoo!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Philly gives me an opportunity to reconnect with friends from the 'burbs where I grew up.

Or Lancaster County.

Dutch Wonderland! (warning for audio) I can't believe that place still exists.

Our wings are not tired.

I really like Philadelphia and am fairly familiar with it (boyfriend's hometown and common business conferences location).

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Calli, if you're headed to Jersey, you can take 50/350 across Annapolis and up through Maryland, and avoid both DC and Baltimore traffic. It's a little bit longer distance, and you have to stick to the speed limit, but the actual time is about what you'd get if you went through DC with no traffic jams. Plus, you arrive with your sanity.

Thanks!

Asheville's in the other end of the state from me (lovely city--I need to get out there this fall), so I'd have to weigh the western jog against DC traffic.

Zenkitty, I was exploring whether I could drive to Baltimore for a possible F2F in a reasonable to me amount of time. Although the map suggests that Jersey's not that much further. Hmmm.
