Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Our wings are not tired.

I really like Philadelphia and am fairly familiar with it (boyfriend's hometown and common business conferences location).

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Calli, if you're headed to Jersey, you can take 50/350 across Annapolis and up through Maryland, and avoid both DC and Baltimore traffic. It's a little bit longer distance, and you have to stick to the speed limit, but the actual time is about what you'd get if you went through DC with no traffic jams. Plus, you arrive with your sanity.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Thanks!

Asheville's in the other end of the state from me (lovely city--I need to get out there this fall), so I'd have to weigh the western jog against DC traffic.

Zenkitty, I was exploring whether I could drive to Baltimore for a possible F2F in a reasonable to me amount of time. Although the map suggests that Jersey's not that much further. Hmmm.

not your mom's socks.

I'd have to weigh the western jog against DC traffic.

hit the beltway at the wrong time and ... but yeah i know :) I should have looked up Carbondale.

You can totally make it!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Nashville's not on the East Coast. Wouldn't it have to wait for the Central location?

Oh, duh, yes -- it is really a central city (in the Central time zone and everything). I'm too used to being an East Coaster!

I was just in Philly this past weekend and loved it, so that one might have the edge for me, but any of the ones mentioned so far would be great. Provincetown with Buffistas would be LEGENDARY.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

All of these options sound good to me.

I am sad that I didn't get to lunch with Scola, etc., today, but ecstatic that I got to see Nora and Tom (for just a few minutes, but a truly excellent few minutes, in between their wine tasting and dinner) and JavaCat and Katerina and spend some time taking the waters, as they probably don't say anymore.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Jersey Shore sounds fun. I don't know the bus transit too well, but there's a direct train from Philadelphia to Atlantic City, and one from the Newark airport that makes a bunch of stops between Long Branch and Bay Head.

Philly sounds good too. As does Providence.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I got to have Thai food with Una tonight, and you guys didn't. Neener. She was wearing a nifty Firefly sweatshirt, and we figured out we were both at DragonCon this year.

She is also going to an observatory tonight (or very early tomorrow morning) to watch stuff smash into the moon. How cool is that?

Does North Carolina count as East Coast? C'mon NCistas, shouldn't you be pimping?

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Heh. I'm already thinking about going to NC in March!

I think Nashville was pitched briefly at the last central F2F, which weirded me out then and weirds me out now! I love that city, but it never said "Buffistas" to me. It said "getting away from family to go see Buffistas."

Jersey would be funny. I've never been to Jersey. Or, the American one. I've been to Original Flavour Jersey.
