Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Yes, but he did not stay with me last year.

And 2008 will forever be the year Suzi left us.

Our wings are not tired.

Aaaaaand I don't have to fly to the UK (and disrupt my entire life) this Thursday, so I will indeed be around when Scola is here. But I will be working 14-20 hours a day until the morning of the 19th.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Oh my god, I suck.

So - June 26-28, July 10-12, and June 19-21 are the run-off dates. Shall we have people pick their first, second, and third choices, and then weight accordingly?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I think there should perhaps be the chance to include 'can't attend', because I think there's a difference between 'not my favourite, but I can do' and 'impossible', which should maybe be taken into account in the weighting?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

For the runoff, would it make more sense to just vote yes/no on the dates, and then go with whichever one gets the most yes votes? I'm not really sure, just putting out an option.

I tend to agree with Hil. Of course, mathier minds may have other opinions.

Hil's suggestion works for me - I just wasn't comfortable with weighting 'not possible' and 'not my favourite' the same.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

We could have a "is there a day you CAN'T attend" box. That way, if its close we'd have a tie-breaker.

But that's covered if you tick yes or no for each date, surely? You might tick three yeses, or two, or one? Or did I misunderstand?

That's what I was figuring. "Yes" for can attend, "no" for can't attend, and maybe a "which is your first choice?" as a tiebreaker, if the can/can't attend vote is a tie.
