Well, this thread has been quiet for a while. My trip to the Bay Area has been confirmed, tickets are purchased, now it is just plan making time. Woot, woot!
I fly in Friday, February 6th and will be tooling around the East Bay during the day and having dinner with my dad that night. Saturday morning we are off to Sonoma State for K-Bug to show off her dorm and friends and such.
After that, no plans have been made. Saturday evening/Sunday are open and I'd love to see as many folks as possible. We can do the actual planning in e-mail...I'm so excited.
I fly home Monday, February 9th.
First Scola, now this. 2009 is already kicking 2008's ass!
can not resist
we had Scola visitage at the beginning of the year last year, and Suzi was still living here.
Yes, but he did not stay with me last year.
And 2008 will forever be the year Suzi left us.
::sniff::
Aaaaaand I don't have to fly to the UK (and disrupt my entire life) this Thursday, so I will indeed be around when Scola is here. But I will be working 14-20 hours a day until the morning of the 19th.
Oh my god, I suck.
So - June 26-28, July 10-12, and June 19-21 are the run-off dates. Shall we have people pick their first, second, and third choices, and then weight accordingly?
I think there should perhaps be the chance to include 'can't attend', because I think there's a difference between 'not my favourite, but I can do' and 'impossible', which should maybe be taken into account in the weighting?
For the runoff, would it make more sense to just vote yes/no on the dates, and then go with whichever one gets the most yes votes? I'm not really sure, just putting out an option.
I tend to agree with Hil. Of course, mathier minds may have other opinions.
Hil's suggestion works for me - I just wasn't comfortable with weighting 'not possible' and 'not my favourite' the same.
