F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

HA! I was correct! (The Derby being on the first Saturday in May and all that.)

It scares me that I still tell spring dates by horse races.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Seattle is a long way north and chances are you will be chilly & damp up to mid-June, possibly later.

I don't mind chilly and damp and it's hard for me to get time off in mid-summer.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah, I can tolerate pretty much any weather. Mostly voting based on my schedule. (Which I haven't really looked at yet, and thus haven't voted yet, but earlier just about always works better than later for me.)

Yeah, we always end up at cross-purposes with everyone's schedules. I know it's inevitable. There's no way I could come the last weekend of May since that's graduation (and the first weekend in June would also be pretty tough), but I know others have similar conflicts mid-summer.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Mother's Day appears to happen in early-to-mid May. I think it's usually the weekend after the Derby and before the Preakness?

It's a couple weeks before the Indy 500, right? Right around Time Trials, I think. Or Pole Day.

Um...

Hey, F2F voting!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yup. My schedule and Kristin's are the same, what with the whole similar profession thing going on and all. But I understand that people have stuff going on.

Maybe we need to do a special teachers' F2F! Heh. Just kidding. But I didn't vote in the poll because I always vote and then end up not being able to go, so I didn't want to skew the numbers.

Huh. That looks like kinda a bad reason, now that I type it out. Maybe I should go vote after all.

(edited to correct the apostrophe, because teachers might read this post. And also because a F2F for one teacher would be sad. And only an F. Which is bad. For teachers. Okay, I should probably go to bed now.)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I think you should vote, Liese. I mean, I totally sympathise with your sense of inevitable doom, but if we don't vote, then that's pretty artificial too.

(And, believe me, the thought of a Buffisteachers' Face To Face has crossed my mind. Also, a Face-to-Fay, in which it's All About Me. Because a girl can dream.)

On the bright side, if it's at a time I can't attend, then that's a whole big pile of money saved.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Vote-wise, it looks like June 19-21 is the most acceptable option so far - it's not high-ranked in the first or second choices, but it is the runaway favorite in the other date options, and it's also the date that was voted against the least.

We've only had 31 votes so far - if you haven't voted, please do so. Thanks!

Looking at those numbers, I'd say that June 26-28 looks just as acceptable, if not more so -- it's top-ranked first choice, it's got a total of 20 votes in the first three questions (while the 19-21 has 17), and only five people voted against it, as compared to 3 for the 19-21. But that could all change with a few more votes.

Heh. Earlier I was thinking, "How are we going to analyze that data authentically?" Then I remembered that we have mathy geniuses. Yay.
