I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

"Yes. It's a convention."

This was the right answer. Maybe not precisely correct, but right.

Welcome to America!

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

We have had a small lunch, and I -finally - have had caffeine.

I entered the airport at the far end, but it was baggage claim 16 not 60. Seatac ain't that big. Fay's flight was listed as Baggage Claim 1. Color me unamused.

I eventually ended up waiting for Fay at the top of the escalators that ascend from the depth of Passport & Customs Hell™. Fay finally appeared 80 minutes after her flight had landed.

Because of the angle, people's feet would appear before we could see their heads. I recognized Fay just from the knees down (ask me how). I decided to move from the stairs to the barrier and when Fay got to the top of the escalators her thousand yard stare managed to look clean through me. She got accosted by someone directing people to Baggage Claim 1, which she didn't need as she's only packed for three days (yes, I'm looking at you, Jill), and while trying to explain to the person that she didn't need to go to Claim 1, I announced to her that if she wanted to find out where to go "You might want to start by turning around".

And I made Fay jump. And I didn't even try to loom.

ahem...

Traffic was mercifully kind.

And now I have to get some Gothic Charm School stuff done so I can spend the evening with m'peeps.

And, how is it Juliana knew about Plei's BBQ on Saturday morning, and I didn't?

Petticoats! Hats! These things take up a lot of room.

Um, I thought you were on the email about it? So I didn't need to tell you? Sorry, my scatterbrain is strong recently.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Looks like the Gray Line will take you to the Monaco for an extra three bucks. [link]

I can live with that. If I can make the 11:00 shuttle (I should if my plane lands on time).

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

BECAUSE I AM SHIVA, DESTROYER OF WORLDS.

OR something like that.

JZ inquires of Jilli or Ple (or anybody else) if they have a tea-length crinoline she can borrow so she won't have to pack one.
