Much travel-ma to Fay. I hope that the trip is less arduous than getting to the trip.
Also, here's hoping Drew's and Fay's travel travails will be enough appease the bad-travel-experience fairies.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Ugh, sorry Fay.
I somehow managed to convince myself last night that it was Monday instead of Tuesday. So, there are a few things that I should have done last night that I didn't do because "oh, I can do them tomorrow" One of which involves my skirt for the prom. Feh. I blame TNT for moving Saving Grace to Tuesday.
In Breaking News:
My travel agent just phoned me again, saying he'd been worrying about my situation, and that he thinks I won't be able to buy the ticket at the airport in the morning, because there's supposed to be a six hour gap between the ticket being issued and the plane being boarded.
So his cunning plan is that apparently I can get an immediate (partial) refund on my original ticket if they charge me 4000 baht (which is around 8% of the ticket cost). And then he can put that towards payment for a new UA ticket, which he can issue now, email me the details, and then when I get back I can pay him the remaining sum for the UA ticket.
As this is a plan that doesn't involve me withdrawing 3/4 of my monthly salary from the bank tomorrow morning, I'm good with it.
...I'm loathe to count any chickens at this point, in case they hatch into velociraptors, but it's looking like there will be a plane arriving at Seattle's airport from Tokyo at 0930 on Thursday morning, and I have some hopes of being on it. I'm certainly going to have paid to be on it, whether they let me aboard or not. We shall see.
crosses fingers, toes, knees, eyes and every other damn thing.
I have to say, though - fair play to Khun Verapand for worrying about me, and hatching a cunning plan to try to get me to the F2F on time, even though it involves effectively lending me a chunk of cash until I get back.
...God, I hope this works.
On the plus side, I can now afford to lie in until 3am. So that's nice.

well, seeing as how this entire situation is due to him not notifying you of the requirements, which is part of the reason why you hire a travel agent, I would think so!
Fay, you deserve many, many drinks. Just not so many that you can't still get up at ass o clock and brave the many forces trying to prevent you from making it to Seattle.
WOW. Fay, you are so getting a HUGE hug and a stiff drink from me when I see you at the F2F.
I look like a sheepdog. Since I can't get an appointment, I will be relying on the local walk-in hair salon. If I get a bad cut, you'll see me wearing a headscarf this weekend.
Fay, I hope that cunning plan works out! What a mess.

Man, I really do need to transcribe all my various travel disasters, because by this point I've got enough tales of feckless disorganisation, bravado, bad luck and pure stupidity Bridget Jones-style (set in a wide array of countries & continents) to be publishable.
Man, I hope this works.
Right, and so to bed. Vortex, sweetie, if you could email me your phone number that would be awesome. Just to be on the safe side, y'know? I'm assuming the House of Reason is sleeping the sleep of the just and adorable, and that Peeves will get the message in the fullness of time, but - I'm feeling a bit fragile and would love to have a phone number to hand, in case of arrive-in-Seattle-and-stand-there-sadly-like-the-last-puppy-in-the-shop. Just in case, y'know? ('Cause maybe the new Hopeful FayETA is inconvenient for the lovely Pete.)
Okay, sleep. G'night all!
