F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
I will just beg (beg, I tell you!) that we avoid the weekends of July 24-26 because Jilli and I are out of town. We REALLY don't want to miss the F2F in our own town. There would be weeping.
Also July 31-Aug 2 is Seafair. The city will be crazy busy and much more expensive.
There would be weeping.
That is a VAST understatement.
Also, July in Seattle may be really really hot - possibly 90s. And could be hot and humid.
Wait, I thought Pete was pushing for us to drop June and earlier dates from consideration just a few days ago? Now half of July is problematic too?
Typo Boy, July in Seattle is very unlikely to be 90's. Possible but unlikely. Humid is equally unlikely.
Matt, yes I do prefer July, early July to be exact. Late June and mid August would be my second choices. I wasn't pushing to drop June (at least late June) but a poll that lacked July as an option was very troubling.
The fact is that in Seattle you could do late August and the weather would still be very manageable for probably most every one.
As for the specific dates, I have already stated that the Weekend of July 31st to Aug 2nd should be avoided as things will be very busy & expensive in the city and I would be remiss in not at least telling the Buffistas of the one weekend we're not going to be in town. I mentioned this some time back.
It did hit a peak of 95 a few days in July 2007. But OK not usual. If it needs to be July, I'm for early July.
I'm good with going with Seattle since the poll was so heavily in its favor. I'm also good with just adding July 11th and 18th as options to the dates we'd suggested and re-polling on that (unless anyone had alternate dates they'd like to consider, which would also be peachy keen). I'm also fine with re-polling the location if people feel strongly about that. Basically I'm good with whatever so long we add a couple of early July dates as possibilities.
DC people, does dinner at Bistrot du Coin on Sunday Nov. 2nd work for people? Maybe at 6:30?
How many people think they can make it?
I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it.
