F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
dont think can
Frank, I have everything taken care of. ND is graciously DJing again, and there's a big tv w/DVD player in the suite.
The only thing that is not settled is the HS goodies - we're going to need to put out a donation jar for that. I was thinking basic stuff: water, pretzels, candy. Are people cool with that? I know root beer was talked about at one point, but we're cutting it close to the wire as it is.
Snacks... like chips = yum.
Candy? Sparingly. Do any of us eat anything more than a little bit of candy?

I would estimate the life of a barrel of Red Vines to be about 5 minutes in any group over 20 ppl. Seriously.
What I'm really asking, though, is are people okay with the donation jar? I'm sorry - I didn't think to include that in my calculations, so that's not been part of the fundraising.
juliana, insent.
Sounds eminently sensible to me - and I've not contributed yet, so I'll be putting in when I get there. Donation Jar works for me!
x-post with Firefly and Beep Me.
Peering out from the dark and lurky place I've been since work and school got so crazy to say...
Any LAistas planning to go to the Can't Stop the Serenity event in LA Tomorrow morning - I just got talked into going since I won't be able to make the San Diego event next weekend, and would love to see/say hi to localistas.
Profile addy is good, but since we're leaving pretty early in the morning, I'll temporarily put my cell# in there too. Call if you'll be in the neighborhood!
Would there be any value to bring some games along? I should have the Catan card game (two player) before leaving. I could bring Set, and some regular decks of cards too. This being my first f2f, not sure if they would be useful or not. What do y'all think?
As for HS snacks. Yes water! Chips and stuff, ya. Fruit platter might go bad left in the open (but better for us). I'm happy to add to that tip jar.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I would guess people would also be bringing in other stuff (i.e. booze) as well? Or other kinds of snacky treats (cheese & crackers, etc.).
