Or maybe you could just be Buffy, he'll see your amazing heart, and he'll fall in love with you.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yay! I think there may be a couple of people still looking for roomies too, if that's of interest to you.

You should still be fine for the group rate, it's just the allocation within a certain group of rooms that has expired.

That sounded cluttered. Um. Your room may not be on the same floor as other Buffistas but it should still be the same rate.

...

Though, I think the special rate must end soon. Juliana probably knows.

Our wings are not tired.

Pete, for my trip to Toronto, I used CarRentals.com and they came back with much cheaper rates than Orbitz.

ETA: I usually like Hertz because I'm Gold whatever with them and I like just walking to the car and ignoring the counter. But Hertz was going to be about $300 for the week; Alamo booked through CarRentals.com was half that.

I've used them as well, with the same result. Much cheaper if you're picking up/dropping off at an airport anyway.

A quick car-rental question; which companies do you like, which should I avoid? I'll be getting a car from Burbank airport in LA

I almost always use Hertz. They are a touch more expensive but I've found that on the whole they have better cars that aren't the totally stripped models. I'm also a Gold member with them and like avoiding the counter.

Is GPS standard these days?

Some places have you rent them separately at an additional fee.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Every Hertz I've rented lately (3) has had a GPS. Even though I don't need it, and have to keep turning it off lest they charge me for it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hertz stranded me in LA one year despite me having my driver's license, current insurance card, the credit card I made the reservation with, and my frickin' birth certificate ID card. And the corporate execs later responded to my written complaint more or less with "sucks to be you, we don't feel obligated to honor agreements."

If there's any way I can encourage people to use Enterprise, Budget Rent a Car, or any other company that actually makes customer service a priority I want to take the opportunity.

Oh, and Frank... you *are* bringing THE HAT, aren't you?

Well, after Jilli scolded me for considering not bringing it (due to packing and/or airport security monkey issues), I've decided I have to.
