Should be fixed now -- the link at the end of the old thread was pointing to alt.buffistas.net, not www.buffistas.org
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
I had the same problem. For some reason the page was going to a buffistas.net, rather than .org (according to someone in Bureaublahblah).
Because Jon, I believe, uses the alt site to be able to access the board from work.
Right. Otherwise we get a million threads or something.
Yay shiny new thread!

That was pretty awesome, though.
Who are you guys, again? I forgot.
Whee!

F2F 2009: Bangkok. Who's with me?I would so do this!
Do we have a plan for 2009 yet, though? It's West Coast again, right? That's the idea.
Fay, you, me, Kristen, Plei, ND, Laura, IIRC, have chimed in with thoughts about the 2009 F2F so far.
The current thinking is that the Pacific Northwest, by which I am including everything from the Washington State Border down to, well, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, has cool enough weather in the summer that we can wait to hold the F2F sometime in July. Or, if not July, in late June or early August, so that those who teach and/or have kids in school can more easily take time off to attend.
There's other, parallel train of thought which is that perhaps instead of choosing an urban center/city for the F2F, we might choose a smaller city or town or even tourist destination instead, possibly one that has a variety of lodging, ranging from hotel rooms or suites to hostel-type dorms or even camping.
Starting here: Java cat "F2F 4: Too Much Candy, Never Enough Mojitos." Sep 22, 2008 7:50:46 pm PDT are listed possibilities for Washington, Oregon, and Northern California.
Somewhere else it was mentioned that someone had been talking about Portland (was it cass? memfault) but I haven't seen anything other than the above posted.
If there is interest in a destination vacation/F2F, such as one of the retreat centers near Port Townsend, or on San Juan Island, for example, we need to get our act together and get a reservation.
Obviously, I don't mind doing some work on this, and perhaps Fay, too. I expect Kristen and ND would if either of them had a minute of free time. I believe I heard that Vortex offered to work on it too. Anyone else?

I also suggested Seattle, and am more than happy to organize (it is very close to what I do for living, so).
Personally, I'm not wild about the idea of a resort F2F.
