Cool. I thought there was at least one we shared.
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
BTW, I remember someone a few days back mentioned the food wasn't always the best investment for the prom. I tend to think we may not want to skimp on the nibblies because if they're made by the hotel's main kitchen that place was verra nice.
Juliana, did you ever get a menu from them? If it's electronic, can you send it to me? I'd really like to see what's on offer.
Ta very much!
Oh, and talking of meeting, come face my wrath at a little online game at mybrute.com - [link]
We've had very nice food in the past, the trick is that since we normally start the prom around 8 or 9 PM, the tendency is for folks to break up into groups, have dinner, come back, change for prom, and then turn up still full from dinner.
For those flying Virgin (or who haven't booked yet), I just got an email informing me that Virgin is now serving absinthe on its flights.
That really doesn't sound particularly virginal.

And each year I think, "Duh, NEXT year I should just eat at the Prom."
This year I will! I swears!
Agreed, Trudy. I plan to do that this year. I learned last year that it's a bad idea to have a heavy dinner and go back to the hotel room. I fall asleep too easily. ETA: And now I am booked for Friday and Saturday nights.
(I am staying at either the Westin or the W Thursday and Sunday night, they're within a couple of blocks from what I can tell on the map).
Should we say prom is dinner party then? So people remember *not* to eat before? Just an idea from the newbie!f2f.

If there's one thing you can rely on, it's that there's no plan that works for everyone. People will do what is right for them.
Me? I'm probably going to have a snack before prom and then enjoy the munchies as much as poss.
Some Buffistas prefer smaller gatherings and get overwhelmed by the muchness of prom. So the dinners before prom are opportunities for those smaller groups.
Or as Pete notes (and Jesse validates): "Different people like different shit."
Sure, but you can gather without a four course dinner if you remember the food is going to be copious (as I always forget). It doesn't exactly prevent intimate gatherings.
Matt and I love to sample food in different towns, so he and I usually discuss restaurants ahead of time (speaking of, any thoughts?) and then invite any and all to join us. Always a good time, but usually stuffed for prom. Even the time that we tried to do tapas and eat light, we managed to sample a little too much. :)
