I have requested time off from work, and fingers crossed that it actually gets approved. There are many factors here, including the fact that i will almost certainly have a shift change before the end of the next month but know not what my new days off will be!!!! I wait with baited breath to see what happens and if it gets approved or not. But if i were to still be on the same schedule, and have the days off approved, i would be able to drive up on Friday and return on Monday. Here's hoping!!

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Ooo! e_o! I hope ya make it! It'd be great to see ya again!
Last I saw, Frankenbuddha, omnis_audis, and Laga are all planning to arrive Thursday.Ayup, I'll be arriving at the airport at 4:20. I think Laga said her flight arrives 4:05. Both on Thursday. I'm guessing we'll make it to the hotel starved for dinner.
But socks and/or tights, yeah, if I'm wearing skirts? Bare legs will be too cold?
Fay, by "tights," do you mean a thicker-knit, like cotton or wool tights (we would wear them in really cool weather), or do you mean pantyhose, like nylon stockings all connected?
I just ask because watching "Coupling" confused the shit out of me when they talked about "tights" and I realized it probably meant pantyhose.
People might be saying no to tights because they might be reading it as the thicker cotton or wool ones.
Well, hell Jon. I'd have loved to see you in Seattle, but I totally get why you won't be there (see Press).
Fay, when it comes to Seattle weather, we will keep you abreast (ooh-er) of the forecast as we get close to the event.
I'm guessing we'll make it to the hotel starved for dinner.
If my usual pattern holds I will have had quite a few bloody marys.
Er...hard to say, Fay. Likely it'll be...around 22-25C daytime, a little cooler at night? But it could be warmer. A similar weekend, last summer (Pride weekend) it was about 35C in the daytime, which was crazy. BUT, it's not humid, which makes it way nicer in the shade and if there's a breeze. So totally unlike Thailand. :)
I love the fact that you translated this.
Aw, cheers, Pete.

Ah, "pantyhose" is not a word in my language, and it just sounds truly hilarious to me. I mean, frankly "panties" sounds pretty damn hilarious (since we say pants), so "pantie - hos" is just made of !!!! Um. The things that go on your legs to stop them from being bare are called tights, afaic, whether that means fishnets, 15 denier ones or stripey woolen ones.
So what I'm saying is - it was 42 degrees out today. I spend most of the day barefoot and barelegged. I'm guessing that I'll need something on my legs other than a taffeta skirt, right? Right. Duh. I'm being stupid.
wonders where to buy tights
Mind you, I can always buy some THERE, I guess. Hmm. Meanwhile, perhaps a jacket would be a good idea? Hmmm

In the summer, I would never wear nylons/pantyhose/tights in Seattle. I mean, maybe some fishnets at prom for fun, but certainly not during the day. YMMV, of course, especially after being in Thailand for a couple of years!
I used to go barelegged in January in Chicago.
