Scolapalooza is the best palooza!
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
OH! speaking of F2Fery, I (with spouse) will be in NYC in a week, Thursday - Sunday, and would love to meet up with Buffista-style humans! Evenings are pretty booked, but we're otherwise free.
I know you stayed with Vortex a good while ago; did she happen to take you to Teaism, our local tea version of Starbucks?
I did not. I confess that somehow I didn't know that Scola drank tea and had none in the house. I felt terrible. So, now I have some. Which I throw most of away every six months because I don't like tea. But, I have it for guests now.
Aw, I always find it so charming when people keep stuff in stock just for guests.
This made me realize I've had a half bottle of Old Overholt whiskey for guests' benefit that hasn't been touched in the better part of a decade. Maybe I need to look up some recipes that involve whiskey in the cooking?
Whiskey party at Matt's! It gets better with age, right? (not a whiskey fan)
Scola!
Should you want to stop in DC, you are welcome to stay with us, as long as 7-year olds, dogs and early risers aren't an issue for you. (our life is, understandably, not for everyone) You can walk to the Red Line from our house.
I also have a big thing at work on the 24th, so can't take that day off, and we have a bar mitzvah to go to at 10 a.m. on the 25th, so I would have to shirk a lot of hostessing duties.

I think the aging process stops once you bottle it, but couldn't swear as I'm not much of a whiskey drinker myself. Which, I guess having the same half-full bottle since 2008 underscores.
I've been enjoying hot toddys this winter - lemon, honey, cinnamon stick, whiskey (or rye or bourbon), hot water. Super-easy and if you don't like whiskey you can just add more honey and lemon.
I will take any unwanted whiskey. Happily.
I need to hit up one of our liquor superstores to see about getting a new bottle of fancy Whiskey. Not sure if there is any more St. George's small batch whiskey out there, but if so, I want it.
I kinda want to set up a "birthday cocktail" station for the party tomorrow featuring whiskey, but I normally drink my whiskey straight. Never been a big fan of Manhattans or Whiskey Sours. What is a good "starter" whiskey cocktail? (I know this is Natter...so I'm gonna crosspost my question there).
