Depends a lot on the airline, and if there's a fee attached, but according to the article, Alaska is one of the companies that does not charge a fee, so it may help some of the Seattle travelers!

Most of LA's great, cheap ethnic restaurants seem to be in strip malls. That's where you find amazing Thai, and Brazilian food etc.
