You people are making me want a Monte Cristo. Well, and also to be in SF for brunch. But the sandwich would do in a pinch.

Arriving, or going home?

My flight leaves JFK at 7:14pm and arrives in Seattle at 10:40pm, which means by the time I get to the hotel, my body will think it's after 3:00am.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I will probably BART. Looks like a long hike from Amtrak.

-t, you're in Fremont, aren't you? I think I'm going to go directly from brunch to my conference down by Monterey, so I could give you a ride back. Although I may stop by Half-Price for kicks beforehand.

going home. I'd leave at 10PM, arrive at 6AM, then have to go to work. I don't sleep on planes, so it would just suck all the way around, so I decided not to do it.

I was lucky enough to get the aisle seat behind the exit row (on both trips), which means that the seat doesn't recline! They charge more for exit row seats now, bastards. I remember when I went to London, it was an extra $75! I was pissed because I'd gotten to the airport extra early so I would have a good chance.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

No, I'm in Suisun - the completely opposite direction. But thank you!

I can transfer from Amtrak to BART in Richmond, but the existence of a Berkeley Amtrak station always makes me think I should be able to use it, but it's not near anywhere I want to be.

Oh yeah, I was going to say, if it's "Leave Sunday night, arrive Mon morning, take off work Monday and sleep in the morning" vs "leave Monday morning, arrive Monday evening", then save the $100. If it's, stay an extra day to save $100 but have to work after a redeye, then...less of a good plan.

Yeah, I went with the redeye option for Sunday. Saving $100 is just too much for me with my current job situation to turn down. But I had to fly out of Milwaukee to get it. Still, even with paying for parking for three days, the savings were too good to turn down.

Are you on AirTran? We're probably on the same flight.

I'm booked on Jet Blue into Oakland, then Juliana and I are flying from SF to Seattle.
