I hear you on the driving time though. My days of consecutive 14-hour drives are long past.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My days of consecutive 14-hour drives are long past.

Me too. My joints can't take it anymore. 8 hours is about my limit these days.

Hey. New board.

Nashville!

I was actually already planning on hosting a casual dinner at my house on Friday - my wife and I do this pretty regularly, inspired by Friday Night Meatballs (google it, it is neat). Y'all are all definitely invited to that if a simple meal of spaghetti and meatballs/TJs veggie meatballs in a small crowded house with small children about sounds fun to you. I can also do dinner on Saturday - Ethiopian is one of my favorites so I would be down with that or, really, anything.

Nashville folks: any thoughts on the Friday evening plan? I've been out of commission all week at a conference in Myrtle Beach and I'm still here and it's taking up a ridiculous amount of my time, from early morning until late at night, but I can check the board in between sessions. I'll be driving back tomorrow, getting back in the evening and then re packing and leaving early Friday so that I can get to Nashville by dinner time, but I won't have much chance to check the board on Friday. I'm driving directly to my friend J.'s house in East Nashville, and I'd like to at least courtesy invite her to join us for dinner if that's okay with everyone, since I'll be basically showing up at her house and leaving for dinner.

Anyway, sorry to post and run. There's no internet/cell access in the session rooms (!!!!) so I have to go outside in between sessions. Wut.

amyth, I say invite your friend! I might have a friend to invite also, if no one else minds. (That is, I do have a friend; I'm meeting up with her at some point, but I don't know if she's available for dinner.)

We haven't made any dinner plans for Friday, and maybe we should do that, just so we aren't all piling into Nashville at dinnertime in different places, all hungry with no idea where to go. Me, I'd be happy to jam into Gris's house Friday night, if he has room for that many people. Gris, can you still accomodate a crowd, or should we look for a restaurant for Friday?

Kate, were you able to find an Ethiopian restaurant for Saturday?

J. is up for Friday dinner! She also suggested a Sat. or Sun. matinee of Jupiter Ascending, which I haven't seen yet, and I thought some of y'all (esp. Zen) might be into that.
