Any further thoughts on Friday vs Saturday for the Chicago gathering? Both is not entirely out of the question for me. Any thoughts/opinions on where to gather?

Friday or Saturday are both good for me. A bar or a restaurant is OK, except I'd like it to be relatively quiet, as I can't hear conversation when there's a lot of background noise.

I'm still a maybe on Friday since I'm headed out of town Sat AM, but I will do my best to make an appearance if Friday is what works for folks. But if Saturday is better then go with that.

Yeah, I was just coming here to comment that us Chicagoistas seem to lack cat-herders.
I'm really not that familiar with downtown Chicago restaurants, but if we're not limited to downtown I'd suggest my favorite Ethiopian restaurant, Demera. It's in Uptown on the corner of Broadway and Lawrence. Or perhaps a place in Wicker Park or on Belmont so we can go window shopping too.
