although you'd have to come out from security to meet me, if you don't want to do that I understand
As long as I'll be able to come back to catch the flight to Seattle, I don't mind going through security again. Can I do this? I'll check with the travel agent tomorrow.
And I can bring some food if you have preferred take out, even something not available via drive-thru given sufficient notice (assuming I can make it, of course)
That's very thoughtful of you, thanks. I just meant I'll probably have something to eat and drink there, and I was wondering if one or more of you might want to join me. The point is seeing you (and, well, to get coffee in my system).
Either way. SFO has a pretty good selection of restaurants.
Today's my last day at work until next Tuesday, so I'm gonna go ahead and put up tentative plans for Sunday afternoon at the Getty. I'll have a laptop/tablet/something with me at the hotel, but no smartphone, so my access will be a bit more sporadic this weekend than a workday.
Looking at Yahoo Maps, it estimates a half-hour to get to the Getty Center from my hotel. So, with a checkout time of 12:00, and given how bad I am at getting going in the morning, I'm going to assume that 12 is when I'll actually be leaving, so I'm going to say let's meet at the Getty Center at 1:30.
Pix, Burrell, are you both still in? Anybody else want to come along? It would be awesome to see you guys!
Oh, and I'll probably figure on catching dinner up there somewhere before I head home Sunday night so the afternoon traffic's got a little time to thin out before I hit the road. Please let me know, any LAistas who'd like to do Sunday dinner!
Profile addy's good, and my cell #, if it's not already listed there, will be momentarily.
Very excited (taking out some of the bittersweet mild stingy-ness of the sort-of ex's wedding, the "real" reason I'll be in LA) to see you guys!
Epic, this weekend has turned into a bit of a mess for me. I forgot I have school events Friday and Saturday. I’m going to do my best to make it work regardless because I’d love to see you, but I’m not positive I can. I’ll let you know as soon as I can.
Shir, I sent you an email because I need a contact number to list for the shuttle to pick you up when you get in late when you arrive on the 8th--if you won’t have a cell that works in the US I can just list mine.
What time is Shir's flight into LA? I could pick her up. Save the shuttle fair.
So sweet of you to offer! I'll let her answer of course, but I think we're good. It's late on a school night, and she's just going to ride here and crash that night. The shuttle isn't expensive. Besides, your place to LAX to our house and all the way back down to your place seems like an awful haul considering none of us will be awake to socialize!
What time does she get in? I live close to LAX.
As for this weekend, I am also in play it by ear mode just because I am swamped with grading. Sunday, right? I should be able to make it work. Meanwhile going to bed early tonight.
Wow, Buffistas. I need a word that says "staring at the computer screen, overwhelmed with gratitude and joy", because that was a major part of the past week so it'll be handy. I feel as if I can't fully express 1/10 of that feeling. Thank you so much.
I'm perfectly OK with a shuttle to the PixDesigns house and see the rest of you in more reasonable hours of the weekend, but if for some reason you'd insist to come and see me in LAX, my flight will land there at 21:51.
As for cell phone number - I will buy a cell phone for local use during the trip, and will update you once I have a phone number. If you'd like my Israeli cell phone number, just email me.
Last but not least: as you might have noticed, this trip was planned hastily, and I know some Buffistas don't check the board so often. Could you help me spread the word, especially on regional F2Fs to other Buffistas who might be interested in meeting me? I'd hate it if I'll miss anyone in an AFK month.
In a case of a fine weather: spoilers.
Laistas, I'm happy to host a little cookout get-together at my house on that Saturday. I think ND will be working, but I'm available.
Oh, Shir, if you're going to be in LA and want to try some absolutely amazing (though rather expensive) vegan food, go to Crossroads.
