I'm really hoping she gets impeached when she gets home.

I predict she replaces Stevens as Senator in a special election. Then she'll enter the Republican primary in 2012 where she'll get lots of press but very few delegates.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Doesn't Palin have to donate all her clothes and such now since they are no longer being used for the campaign?

I hear also a lot of it is "lost."

HAR.

This is the state that (probably) re-elected Stevens and Young (though FiveThirtyEight suspects election-rigging). Make no mistake, it's been known in-state for a long time that the politicians are on the take, and nothing has ever really been done about it because they bring home the bacon. Palin did win on a reform platform, but her numbers stayed high even when allegations came out against her. She brought a lot of dollars and attention to Alaska, and a lot of people are still very defensive of her. She might not get re-elected in 2010, but I doubt she'll get impeached.

Or this.

Well, yeah. OTOH, she has managed to piss off a lot of the Republicans in the state legislature, right? At the very least I suspect they're going to make things difficult for her.

I was on the phone with a coworker in Juneau the other day, and he said that she's lost a lot of her popularity since the nomination because the folks in AK didn't really know everything she was up to (the per diem bullshit, taking her kids to conferences on the state dime, naming unqualified childhood friends to well-paid positions), and now that they do, things are changing.

So even if her popularity remains high among Alaskans in general, I wouldn't be surprised to see more pushback from the state legislature.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I wonder if Chelsea Clinton and Amy Carter will swing by and teach the Obama girls all the nooks and crannies in the White House.

I guess there hasn't been a boy growing up in the White House for a while.
