Also, I was getting all bummed because CNN made it look like CO was going to McCain, but the fact that you can go to the county level report, you then notice it's only one county! [link]

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

With half of the Florida precincts in, Obama is up 52-48.

Thrive to spite them

I absentee voted but I heard that some college students were turned away in one precient for having their student id, which is valid. The news was telling them to go back and vote if they were turned away.

Interesting contrast to my brother's demo, I was the only pasty person in line until when I left. Then an old hippy white dude had appeared at the end of the line. Which is on par with my 'hood.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We had to show ID, because of a 2004 AZ law. It meant there was an old lady who couldn't stand very well who was disenfranchised because she didn't have a drivers' license and her utility bills were not in her own name. Fucking ID law.

I was worried about ours because our licenses show our po boxes and not our physical addresses, but it was just fine.

They rang a bell whenever a first-time voter checked in and everybody applauded. It was cute and kinda moving, although if I'd been a first-time voter I would totally have tried not to admit it.

I got a sticker, but I was deeply disappointed by the lack of mutton stew and frybread and the actual candidates asking for my vote. I suppose they don't do that in wealthy suburban neighborhoods like they do on the rez. Harumph.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I have voted in CO, AR, and now MO, and have always had to show photo ID.

Do you mean in this election? Because that's some serious dedication.

Daily Kos is confusing me. How is it they show Michigan going red? It can't just be 'he's leading at the moment', they haven't coloured Georgia or Texas.

Oh YAY! Pearce lost to Udall in NM. My parents HATE Pearce. Dad's had interactions with him and found him ignorant, arrogant and stupid.

Oh, btw, I know I don't live there anymore, but can I just give a big whohoo for Tom Udall taking the senate seat in New Mexico? That's awesome. He is by far the best elected representative I have ever dealt with and he is qualified and competent and communicative and I'm just so proud of him.

CNN projects that Mitch McConnell will hold his seat.
