Oh YAY! Pearce lost to Udall in NM. My parents HATE Pearce. Dad's had interactions with him and found him ignorant, arrogant and stupid.
Oh, btw, I know I don't live there anymore, but can I just give a big whohoo for Tom Udall taking the senate seat in New Mexico? That's awesome. He is by far the best elected representative I have ever dealt with and he is qualified and competent and communicative and I'm just so proud of him.

That was actually discussed in the chat! He said that while some people found sneezing very pleasurable, some people hated it. They tried to keep the list to things that everyone found pleasurable to some degree.
They rang a bell whenever a first-time voter checked in and everybody applauded. It was cute and kinda moving, although if I'd been a first-time voter I would totally have tried not to admit it.
That is cute. I was super excited about how many of the people I called in CO last night were 18-21, and how many of them (and their roommates, who I got probably half the time) had already voted! And then there was the 94 year old lady, who had also already voted. Good times.
Speaking of old ladies, my mother took my grandmother to vote, and they totally had a thing off to the side with a large-print ballot (that she still couldn't see, but whatever), so they didn't have to wait in line!

Liese, that's lovely to hear. Parents were very pro-Udall, but I don't know if they'd ever interacted with him before. I think my dad will be much happier, especially since if he takes the pre-retirement job, he's gonna be dealing with political reps even more than he has before (which was a lot) and I think he was on the verge of calling Pearce a fuckhead to his face.
