Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I still call it McNeil/Lehrer.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I still call it McNeil/Lehrer.

Same here. 70s liberal childhood, how I miss you.

hip deep in pie

Wow, you go change a load of laundry and a whole bunch of states get called.

Load #3 in washing machine, Load #2 in dryer, Load #1 waiting to be folded.

Texas is close!

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Thanks, Jesse! I dunno. It still feels kind of dicey to call something based on projections and exit poll analysis, especially after I've read that essay earlier by whasshisface about the unreliability of exit polls. Looks like a lot of the time, they make the call when barely 1-2% of the votes have been tallied. It gives me uncomfortable feelings in my gut.

I'm a pretty much a political ignoramus (plus not an American, although living in this country) and this whole election coverage is like this prolonged, labyrinthine TV plot that's really addictive and I can't help but keep watching even though I barely understand what's going on.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

PBS just started up coverage. They're "projecting" not calling.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

CNN says Sununu has been defeated in NH.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Aww. CNN gives North Dakota to McCain. It was always a long shot, but it would've been nice.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thanks, Jesse! I dunno. It still feels kind of dicey to call something based on projections and exit poll analysis, especially after I've read that essay earlier by whasshisface about the unreliability of exit polls.

In states like NY, it would be totally shocking for Obama not to take it, which is why they called it so fast. And they are being more cautious after the Florida clusterfuck.

An irrelevant poll I liked, partly because I picked the same answer as Weingarten.

Which is the best non-sexual physical feeling?

  • Relieving oneself of a well-needed no. 1.
  • Relieving oneself of a well-needed no. 2.
  • Scratching a hard-to-reach itch.
  • Eating something good when really hungry.
  • A long, scratchy, deep-scalp massage.
  • Being held lovingly as you fall asleep.
  • Removal of shoes after a long period of walking.
  • The feel of cold AC after coming in from serious heat.
  • Drinking cold water when parched.
