I've had a vote and post going on all over the internet today. I wish I could take all the "I voted" posts from here, and twitter, and FB, and LJ, and all the blogs, and COMM them in one place. Because it's been AWESOME.

I've got fivethirtyeight, election.princeton.edu, CBS News (McCain's leading in Kentucky. Who knew?), realclearpolitics for the articles, cqpolitics because I like their map colour scheme best, Daily Kos, and CNN.

See, billy-- we waited for you!

Latest 538 shows that even if McCain gets all the Tossup votes it won't be enough. This presumes that the Lean, Likely, Safe electoral votes hold as projected.

Heh. Someone posted this in today's Gene Weingarten chat:

I was pretty confused about who to vote for until last night. I don't really buy the idea that either major candidate knows what to do about the economy, and that's the biggest issue for me. Neither of their health care packages appeal to me either.

But I read something last night that made my mind up for me. We already knew that the Obamas were getting their girls a dog after the election, regardless of whether they won or lost. Last night I read that Jill Biden had promised her husband a dog as well, but his dog was contingent upon winning. So if the Obama/Biden ticket lost, Joe Biden would not get a dog. Not only would he be a loser, he'd be a dogless loser. That is the worst kind of loser.

Therefore, in the interest of making sure that guy gets a dog, I'm voting for the Democrats this afternoon. I am no longer undecided.

I would laugh and laugh if he ended up being Secretary of State to the new administration after being squeezed out of Bush's. And I'd honestly be hard pressed to think of anyone more qualified for the job.

I seriously think that the Traditional Old School Conservatives need to start a new party free from the Moron Majority Cultural Conservatives.

Totally. If I were an actual small-government, states' rights conservative, I would be running so fast from those other Republicans, I don't even know. Luckily, I think the tide may be turning away from the Moral Majority types.

It is deeply unhealthy for me to sit at my computer all night, right? I'm sitting here smoking and reading and at this rate, I am going to burn through a couple of packs before midnight.

Ugh. And I think I ate too many soy-wasabi almonds, too.

I don't think I have a book compelling enough right now to divert my attention (and that's a craxy-talk statement right there.)
