Do I wish I was somebody else right now. Somebody not... married, not madly in love with a beautiful woman who can kill me with her pinkie!

“Not dead yet!”

Nathan Bedford Forest? Jeez. It's not like it's even someone where they had to dig for unknown skeletons in the closet. That is so fucking wrong.

No shit. And the part about how the name was originally suggested by the Daughters of the Confederacy in protest of the Supreme Court's ruling for integration. Woot.

Gotta love the 1970 graduate, too, who was grumbling about erasing southern history. Lady, there are some aspects of history that while they shouldn't be forgotten, should sure as shit not be glorified.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Even if it looks like a landslide (which I doubt it will be, popular vote-wise), the networks can't call it too early because they want viewers glued to their coverage all night.

Anyone remember the Comedy Central coverage of the '92 election? I'm pretty sure it was Jon Stewart who began their coverage with words to the effect: "At this point we are calling the election for Bill Clinton. Stay tuned for two hours of election coverage here on Comedy Central."

So has anyone waited longer than 90 minutes?

At least 4,000 foreign journalists to cover election

The whole planet is obsessed with the U.S. presidential election - and the world's news media is poised to deliver the goods, subject to interpretation in more ways than one. It is one big cultural moment.

As of Monday more than 4,000 foreign journalists have been granted credentials to cover the campaign finale, according to State Department spokesman Keith Peterson.

"Interest is unprecedented," he said. "And every journalist is looking for their local angle. It's huge in Bangladesh. In France, 'Le Figaro' devoted five pages to the election. The Russians and Nigerians want to know how foreign policy will affect them, the Irish want to talk about the Irish ancestry of Sen. Barack Obama on his mother's side."

The Vietnamese, on the other hand, want to hear about Sen. John McCain, a prisoner of war in Hanoi four decades ago, while the Kenyan audience is keen for insight about Mr. Obama's father, a native of the country.

...

While Brazilian journalists will venture out on Route 66 in search of the great American voting experience, Al Jazeera will send 50 reporters to towns in Virginia, Florida, Ohio and other swing states. More than 50 French journalists also will offer their take on the election from Chicago, Phoenix and Manhattan, N.Y., according to Agence France-Presse .

One day, Jen, you and me.

You betcha!

I got a little teary as I poked around the site sumi linked with Obama voting - the thousand kids in line at Penn State (or was it U Penn? Either way - teary).

Although, I remember distinctly having to go off campus to vote when I was in college. Voting for Dukakis. A hundred years ago.

Ann, that's a ferret.

The whole "It was just a joke" thing pisses me off too.

Making one copy to prank a friend is a joke, as long as you make clear to friend long before Election Day that you were only joking. Sending copies to complete strangers is NOT a joke.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Holy Crap!

My big! Boss's position has just been eliminated. The Dean is telling everyone herself and assures us that no other positions will be eliminated.

I am a little nauseaous, but I really disliked Big!Boss and thought she lacked integrity, so I hope this is a good thing!

ETA- I am so shocked that I signed my post!!!
