I'm in line at my wee elementary school auditorium, and we haven't started voting yet. I got here at 6:41a and am 20th in line.

I VOTED!!!!
Ima go put on pants and get coffee and vote. There's no law saying I gotta put on pants though, right?
I got to the school at 8 am. I voted at 9:30. The line was just as long (outside in front of the school) as when I arrived. The lady behind me got all giddy when she saw a girl she knows standing in line. The girl turned 18 two months ago and still had an hour-long drive to school afterwards.
I've never seen so many people there, ever. People were taking the day off, splitting shifts, taking sick leave to be there. There was a kid there with his mom wearing a ballcap with "Yes We Can" and Obama '08 on it.
Thanks Sue - No pressure or anything.
I trust the Buffistas will do the right thing.
I believe the constitution is silent on the issue of pants.
This pisses me off: Phony Virginia Flier Culprit Found
State elections officials have identified the person responsible for a phony election flier that told Republicans to vote on Tuesday and Democrats to vote a day later.
State Board of Elections Secretary Nancy Rodrigues said Monday the flier bearing the Virginia seal and the elections board logo was a joke that got out of control. The flier was distributed early last week across Hampton Roads. State police confirmed it also was distributed by e-mail.
...
While distribution of false information to voters is a misdemeanor, state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says no charges would be filed.
Why no charges?
Also, when Bush is no longer president, I kinda' hope he says his presidency was a "joke that got out of control." Except then he'll probably get no charges either.
I'm going to be on a plane from 5:15 EST to 8:35 PST, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be watching CNN the whole time.
My fantasy is that they will have called it for Obama by the time we land, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen.
My first thought this morning was, "I hope America doesn't make Laura cry today."
I'm a big old pile of mush today. Got misty listening to the report about Obama's grandmother. I expect tears to flow before the call tonight.
But I forgot about tears of joy and relief. Also, a few subtle, good humored fist pumps of "I told you so!" in the direction of her good friends and neighbors who've been giving her the needle for her liberal ways.
I am hoping that Nate Silver is freaking awesome at his job.
