Aw, otters holding hands. I hadn't seen that in a while. Thanks, lisah!
I am going out to vote around noon, so I don't want to watch any coverage until after I've voted. It's a vaguely superstitious thing that I can't quite put my finger on, but I'm going with it. I do have the day off, though, so I've decided to go out somewhere and pull some combination of running errands and watching coverage. I'm taking Hal with me.
Thanks Sue - No pressure or anything.
My friend in Wales is saying the same btw - she's all "Tell me this is going to go the right way" - dude, I cannot control the whole damn country.
I do feel a bit neutured not having volunteered at all. I was more active last election. All my effort this year has been posting things on FaceBook and sending a few emails to folks in TX about early voting.
CNN Election Coverage Through The Years
I love this caption for the 1980 picture:
Back in 1980 this was probably considered futuristic. Lou Dobbs and Bella Abzug host CNN's first US election coverage, five months after the news network's launch. Any similarity between the central section of the set behind them and the interior of Doctor Who's Tardis is entirely coincidental
I'm in line at my wee elementary school auditorium, and we haven't started voting yet. I got here at 6:41a and am 20th in line.
Ima go put on pants and get coffee and vote. There's no law saying I gotta put on pants though, right?
I got to the school at 8 am. I voted at 9:30. The line was just as long (outside in front of the school) as when I arrived. The lady behind me got all giddy when she saw a girl she knows standing in line. The girl turned 18 two months ago and still had an hour-long drive to school afterwards.
I've never seen so many people there, ever. People were taking the day off, splitting shifts, taking sick leave to be there. There was a kid there with his mom wearing a ballcap with "Yes We Can" and Obama '08 on it.
Thanks Sue - No pressure or anything.
I trust the Buffistas will do the right thing.
I believe the constitution is silent on the issue of pants.
