All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Happy Birthday, Ginger!

Hooray for Jake and Clio. May Jake find his zen soon.

Abby, sorts through her candy this way: "I sorted my candy by corporation. I got a good deal more from the Mars company. If this was a common trend, then I predict they had a higher profit than Hershey or Nestlé."

She could handle my investments (if I had any)! Although she might need to do some interviews to find out what people tried to keep for themselves to make sure her data is accurate. There could be spreadsheets!

I had no trick-or-treaters which is not at all surprising since I'm in an apartment building with no children. I bought dark chocolate miniatures just in case, though.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

The Things One and Two are adorable, and even more adorable when crabby!

We had 150 or so trick-or-treaters. We sat out on the porch with the treats and it was so lovely to see the groups of kids flitting from streetlight to streetlight in costumes.

Happy Birthday, Ginger!

I got maybe 25 or so kids in all. Too much leftover candy, bah. Oddly enough, while there are quite a lot of Asian families in the neighborhood, I only got African-American trick-or-treaters. I wonder if the white kids got driven up the hill into the higher-rent district with better quality candy.

I'm lounging around in my PJs, putting off looking at voting materials. I really need to vote this morning and get my ballot in the mail, or I'll have to hand-deliver it to the polling place on Tuesday, and I am afraid it'll be swamped over there.

Beth, you and Matt should just about now be receiving a phone call from the Vintner regarding dinner tomorrow.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

So, Kodak deleted the pictures from my online account because I hadn't made any purchases from it. Apparently the hundreds of dollars I've spent on their stupid cameras over the years don't count. Feh.

So, I created a Picasa account. We'll see how that goes.

Only one picture in there at present:

The costume was bought with the bright idea that since we have a baby carrier that allows us to wear him on our backs, if we went to any sort of Halloween party this year, I could dress as Luke Skywalker and carry him around. Unfortunately, no one we knew threw a party this year and he didn't cooperate with attempts to just take some pictures with him strapped to my back.

He still looks cute in the costume, though.

Pop Tarts:

Happy Birthday, Ginger!

It's weird living in a "swing state" after spending most of my voting life in Illinois. Lots more political adds and we're getting robo-calls from McCain pretty much daily. I've never listened to them and the GF hangs up as soon as she realizes what they are, so I'm not sure what they're saying up here in cheeseland. Oddly, no calls from Obama, though the area of WI we're in is practically a Chicago suburb (the Cubs fans seem to outweigh the Brewers fans and the Packers fans barely beat out the Bears fans, if house/vehicle decorations are any indication) so it's possible he feels he doesn't need to campaign here.

I have been hearing a radio commercial from John Mellancamp endorsing Obama on one of the Chicago stations, though it's pretty clearly directed at Indiana voters.

I got one robo call from Jan Schakowsky that was all "I love you and kittens and flowers and Barack Obama and unicorns and rainbows..." which was all very nice but far too long. So I hung up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, Ginger!

I seriously need to get a move-on. And yet? NSM.

Oh, can I express how absolutely annoyed I am with people about this whole Khalidi tape "scandal"?

1. The dude is a respected scholar. Yes, he's Palestinian, but Palestinian != terrorist. Yes, he's pro-Palestine, but from what I can tell he condemns the violence on both sides.

2. The LA Times is not releasing the tape because their source requested they not do so. They're not doing it to protect Obama, they're doing it because they have Journalistic Intergrity!

3. The only reason anyone knows about the tape is because the Times reported on it themselves, six months ago! If they were really trying to cover things up, they wouldn't have printed a story about it in their frickin' paper in the first place!

Yeesh!

I feel better now.
